MESSAGE FROM THE DEPUTY HEADTEACHER – WELFARE AND
SANITATION

Caring for the Girl Child: A Clean, Dignified, and Supportive Environment for Teaching and Learning

Asalaam Alaikum!

Being Part of Nabisunsa Girls’ School, we understand that true academic excellence is sustained not only by books and classrooms, but by the overall well-being of our students and Staff. As Deputy Headteacher in charge of Welfare and Sanitation, I am proud to lead efforts that ensure every girl learns in a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.

A healthy school is a flourishing school. From proper sanitation facilities and nutritious meals to menstrual hygiene management and emotional well-being, our welfare programs are rooted in dignity, care, and inclusivity. We believe that no girl should miss out on her education because of preventable challenges related to health, hygiene, or basic needs.

In Nakawa and the greater Kampala community, we strive to set the standard for student-cantered care. Across Uganda and East Africa, we champion policies and practices that support girls’ education through adequate welfare systems. On the continental and global stage, we proudly engage in conversations and partnerships around sustainable development, gender equity, and youth empowerment.

As a student, your well-being is our mission. Our dear parents and guardians: thank you for walking this journey with us. Our teachers and support staff: your everyday efforts make a lasting difference we are so grateful. Last but not least, our regional and international partners: we welcome your collaboration in building a world where every girl thrives in body, mind, and spirit.

At Nabisunsa Girls’ School, welfare is not an option. It is a promise of care, dignity, and readiness for a brighter future.

You reap what you Sow is our School Moto.

For God and My Country
